Peace effort: Wend-Nonglen and the IST offer 6.5 million FCFA

The association for integral human development Wend-Nonglem and the Higher Institute of Technology (IST) on Friday handed over to the State food, soap worth 4 5 million and 2 million FCFA in cash for their contribution to the peace effort in Burkina Faso.

“We cannot remain on the sidelines of the appeal launched by the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré in relation to the patriotic momentum in our country”, affirmed the executive secretary of the association for integral human development Wend-Nonglem, Etienne Kabore.

The Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) was created on January 11, 2023 by the Transition to raise funds to support the peace effort in Burkina Faso.

Mr. Kaboré who was speaking Friday in Ouagadougou, during a delivery of food in the amount of 4.5 million FCFA and the sum of 2 million FCFA offered by the Higher Institute of Technologies (IST) under the peace effort.

In his opinion, their actions are aimed at supporting the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who are doing a great job on the ground for the return of peace in the country.

He explained that the donation is made up of 5 tons of rice, 8.5 tons of corn, 50 boxes of soap and cash, mobilized from members of his structure, partners and the Church of the Assembly of God of area 1.

“We hope that next time, our mobilization will be in favor of development actions for those who have returned to their villages,” he said.

Etienne Kaboré also indicated that this donation comes after several gestures for the benefit of internally displaced persons (IDPs), in particular those of Kaya in 2019, Kongousi in 2020 and the Center in 2021 and in other localities in Burkina.

The Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubacar Nacanabo, hailed the capacity for adaptation and resilience of the people of Burkina Faso in the face of adversity.

“I take this opportunity to translate once again, the full recognition of the highest authorities of our country to all Burkinabè from the interior and the diaspora who testify to their support for this national cause”, he said. he adds.

Minister Nacanabo said he was convinced that the Burkinabè will follow in the footsteps of the two structures more closely so that the challenges of restoring territorial integrity and the return of IDPs to their localities can be met
