PDM welcomes new members

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) will not relinquish its domination in Kunene North, where it currently controls the Epupa, Opuwo Urban and Opuwo Rural constituencies, with aspirations to take over the Sesfontein constituency.

This was said on Sunday by PDM’s Kunene regional coordinator Karitjindua Hepute on the sideline of a welcoming event of more than 70 new members who joined PDM from various other political parties at Ombazu village in the Epupa constituency.

The new members are from the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), Swapo Party, and the National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO).

Hepute said PDM aspires to take over the Sesfontein constituency from the United Democratic Front in two years, adding that the party’s membership has grown since the previous national election, with over 600 new members joining the party in the Sesfontein constituency over the last five months.

Speaking at the same event, Opuwo Urban constituency councillor Ueutjerevi Ngunaihe appealed for unity among
party members ahead of the party’s primary election next year.
