Komondjari: The High Commissioner of the province of Komondjari, Mr. Valentin Gnanou, visited middle school students at the provincial and municipal high schools of Gay©ri on Saturday as part of a patriotic immersion program focused on civic duty and citizenship.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of civic and patriotic education activities aimed at reinforcing republican values, a sense of duty, respect for state symbols, and civic engagement among the students. Interactive discussions covered themes related to civic responsibility and citizenship, encouraging students to adopt responsible behaviors within the community.

The day featured practical activities, including marching and sports sessions, designed to promote discipline, teamwork, and cohesion among the students. These exercises also aimed to instill notions of rigor, respect for instructions, and perseverance.

Following the launch of civic and patriotic training activities on January 10, 2026, Mr. Gnanou visited the site on January 24 to congratulate and motivate the trainers and students. He commended their dedication and urged them to remain committed to learning and practicing civic and patriotic values, which are vital for strengthening social cohesion and community spirit.

The organizers highlighted that this patriotic immersion helps train citizens who are aware of their rights and duties and are capable of actively participating in building a united and resilient society, especially in a national context requiring more civic engagement.

The students, visibly satisfied, appreciated the initiative as enriching and educational, expressing their desire to apply the lessons learned in their daily lives.
