Nayala: The regional director in charge of human rights in the Bankui region, Diarra Dapoba, urged students on Friday, October 10, 2025, to demonstrate their patriotism through daily actions, such as respect for teachers and classmates, cleanliness of the school environment, work and solidarity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on Friday, October 10, 2025, the Toma Centre A school hosted a ceremony to raise the national colors, presided over by the Secretary General of Nayala Province, Adama Diallo, representing the High Commissioner. This activity is part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation.

In his speech, the Regional Director of Human Rights and Peace Promotion, Diarra Dapoba, recalled the importance of the raising of national colours as a moment of cohesion and attachment to the homeland. He emphasized the posture to be adopted by civilians during this symbolic act, stressing that respect for the flag is a mark of love for the country.

“Burkina Faso is our common home. Being a good citizen means respecting school rules, telling the truth, coming on time, and learning seriously,” he emphasized.

The regional director also invited the children to draw inspiration from the example of the country’s leaders, particularly Captain Ibrahim Traore, a symbol of commitment and dedication to the nation. “If you work hard in school, tomorrow you too will be able to serve the country with pride. Let us love our country through our words and our actions,” he concluded, to applause from the students.

A practical demonstration of the correct posture was given by Mr. Bandaogo Saidou, a member of the delegation, in order to encourage students and teachers to adopt a uniform and respectful attitude during the raising and lowering of the flag. “When the flag is raised, the right hand is on the heart, the feet together: this posture reflects the love and respect we owe to our homeland,” explained Mr. Bandaogo.

Speaking to close the ceremony, Mr. Adama Diallo, Secretary General of Nayala Province, welcomed the mobilization and congratulated the regional leadership for this educational activity. He recalled that the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation take place in two phases each year: the first in March and the second in October. “These days aim to inspire in each of us a surge of patriotism and strengthen love for our country,” he said.

Mr. Diallo urged the students to embrace the core values ??of Burkinabe society, namely integrity, solidarity, courage, respect, and a love of work. “You are the builders of tomorrow’s Burkina Faso. Change begins at school, with simple and responsible actions,” he added, before symbolically handing over a batch of materials to the school.

The ceremony ended in a friendly atmosphere, marked by thanks from the teaching staff and cheers from the students, proud to have participated in this lively lesson in civics and patriotism.
