Passore: Regional and provincial authorities stand in solidarity with people suffering from social exclusion in Yako: As part of the national solidarity campaign called 'Deme Sira,' initiated by the Ministry of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, the regional authorities of Yaadga and the provincial authorities of Passore shared a community meal on December 24, 2025, with victims of social exclusion in Yako. This act of solidarity took place in the courtyard of the Catholic church in Yako, where some women experiencing social exclusion are being housed. Through this symbolic gesture, the authorities demonstrated their support and compassion for these marginalized individuals.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of Passore province, Daouda Sangare, stated that this community meal is one of the solidarity actions undertaken by the regional authorities of Yaadga as part of the "Deme Sira" campaign. "It is an act of recognition of the human dignity of these women who are victims of social exclusion," he emphasized. Mr. Sangare also indicated that this gesture reflects the firm commitment of the highest authorities in the country to promote the protection of human dignity and strengthen solidarity among the population. "I hope that this meal will be a catalyst for social cohesion in our province and a factor for peace in Burkina Faso," he said.
For his part, the regional director in charge of humanitarian action in Yaadga, Laurent Samanyouga, welcomed this connection with people who are victims of social exclusion, often wrongly accused because of their social circumstances. He urged the population to abandon all forms of exclusion. Mr. Samanyouga reiterated that practices of social exclusion are unfounded and must be prohibited in daily behavior.
The representative of the governor of the Yaadga region, Yala Daourou, indicated that the objective of this community meal was to demonstrate to people who are victims of social exclusion the government's constant support for them. To that end, he invited the population of Yako to demonstrate permanent and resilient solidarity towards those who are victims of social exclusion in the locality.
