Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Passor© Province, Saidou Ou©draogo, officially launched the Civic and Patriotic Education (ECP) activities for 10,966 students in the intermediate classes of secondary schools in the province. The launch event took place at the Yako provincial multipurpose high school, attended by administrative, religious, military, and paramilitary authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ECP program targets students from the nine communes of Passor©, comprising 4,716 boys and 6,250 girls. Sadou Ou©draogo, representing the High Commissioner of Passor©, urged these students to embody civic responsibility within their schools and communities.
The provincial secretary general highlighted that the ECP initiative follows a mandatory patriotic immersion trial held from August to September 2025 for new high school graduates. The program aims to cultivate responsible, disciplined, and supportive citizens with a strong national attachment.
The ECP activities are scheduled from January 10th to February 14th, 2026, focusing on intermediate grade students in high schools and middle schools. This period will emphasize values such as eco-citizenship, civic-mindedness, solidarity, living together, discipline, and republican values within the school environment.
Mimtiri Oualbeogo, the provincial director of secondary education and vocational and technical training in Passor©, stated that the ECP is designed to prepare these students as future nation builders and public servants.
