Pan-African Movement Backs President of Faso in National Transition


OUAGADOUGOU – Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso, met with representatives of the Pan-African Movement Africa and the Diaspora this Tuesday morning, discussing their support for Burkina Faso’s transitional goals.



According to Burkina Information Agency, a spokesperson for the delegation, the meeting centered on issues pertinent to Burkina Faso’s ongoing revolution. The Pan-African Movement, acknowledging the challenges faced by Burkina Faso, expressed its commitment to actively support the nation’s efforts. “We cannot remain on the sidelines of this,” stated Dr. Tshabalala following the discussions.



The talks addressed four main areas: initiating trade missions to Burkina Faso, enhancing the capacities of women and children, strengthening public service and civil servant capabilities, and improving peace and security measures. Dr. Tshabalala highlighted the need for a political revolution to protect vulnerable groups from manipulation and voiced concern over the inefficacy of United Nations peacekeeping missions in Africa.



Winnie Auma Ogweno, president of the Pan-African Movement Africa and Diaspora, emphasized the organization’s dedication to the economic, political, and social liberation of Africa. She stressed the importance of preserving African cultural identities and the integrity of historical empires and kingdoms.
