Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrikes, Iran Launches Satellite, and Train Collision in Egypt


Gaza City—Palestinian security and medical sources reported that at least 21 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting the Gaza Strip on Saturday. The sources disclosed that an Israeli warplane launched at least one missile at a residential house in the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.



According to Xinhua, in a separate incident on the same day, Iran successfully launched its research satellite, Chamran-1, into orbit using the domestically developed three-stage solid-fuel Qaem-100 rocket. This advancement underscores Iran’s continuing progress in its aerospace technology.



Cairo witnessed a tragic rail incident also on Saturday, where at least three people died, and 49 others were injured in a collision involving two trains in Sharqiya Province, north of the Egyptian capital. Egypt’s Ministry of Health stated that 44 of the injured were in stable condition and expected to be released from hospitals soon, while five remained under close observation due to their serious conditions.



In political news, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune secured a second term with 84.3 percent of the votes, as confirmed by the country’s Constitutional Court last Saturday. The court validated the election results after a comprehensive review of polling station records and appeals by candidates, with the final announcement broadcasted live on state-run television.
