Islamabad: Pakistan’s textile exports in the first quarter of the current 2025-26 fiscal year rose by 5.62 percent compared to the same period last year, as reported by officials from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Wednesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the exports of textiles were recorded at 4.774 billion U.S. dollars during the July-September period of the ongoing fiscal year. This marks an increase from the 4.520 billion dollars recorded in the same months of the previous fiscal year.
On a year-on-year basis, however, there was a slight decrease of 1.99 percent in textile exports, with figures showing 1,572.920 million dollars in September 2025 compared to 1,604.856 million dollars in September 2024. Despite this, there was a month-on-month increase of 3.23 percent in September 2025 compared to August.
The textile commodities that contributed to the growth in exports included cotton yarn, knitwear, bed wear, towels, tents, canvas, tarpaulin, silk, and synthetic textiles, as reported by PBS.
