“On Wednesday, 09 August, our office received information that a large quantity of drugs are being stashed at a residence in Kuisebmund, Walvis Bay, and upon receiving this information, surveillance was conducted on the said residence.

On Thursday, 10 August at around 11h00, members of the Drug Law Enforcement Sub-Division, by means of a search warrant, raided the residence, where the female accused was arrested and the drugs we recovered,” the commissioner explained.

Another seizure valued at N.dollars 97 250 was made in Swakopmund, where 31 year -old Dominic Denker was arrested and appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody for further investigations.

According to Kupembona, the parcel which was sent from Germany via Nampost was intercepted by the members of police and was declared as soccer jerseys and packets of sweets, but was discovered to be 1.9 kg of cannabis seeds.

“N.dollars 50 700 worth of cannabis was also seized in Walvis Bay on Tuesday 08 August, and 25-year-old Leonard Willard was sentenced to three years of direct imprisonment for dealing with the drugs.
