Over 3,000 Families in Calai and Mavengue Receive Financial Assistance Through Kwenda Program

Calai: Over 3,427 vulnerable families in the municipalities of Calai and Mavengue, located in the province of Cubango, have started receiving financial assistance of 132,000 kwanzas each. This assistance is provided through the Kwenda social assistance program.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the funds will be distributed in a single tranche due to the challenging access to the interior regions of Cubango. To facilitate rapid disbursement, the Local Development Institute (FAS) has deployed 42 technicians, including ADECOS (Community and Health Development Agents) and other field technicians, to oversee the distribution process.

Helena Chimena, the deputy governor of Cubango for political, economic, and social sectors, emphasized that this initiative reflects the government's commitment to building a more equitable society. She stated that the cash transfers aim to ensure that no family is left out, aligning with the objectives of creating a more equal society as outlined in the Constitution of the Republic.

Chimena further highlighted that the Kwenda program serves as a tangible response to support vulnerable families. By providing financial support, the program seeks to enhance their quality of life and promote their productive inclusion.
