Ndalatando: Since the beginning of this year, more than 26,000 primary school students have benefited from the School Feeding Program in the province of Cuanza-Norte, said the local Director of Education, Miguel Ngola, on Wednesday.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the program serves students from 51 educational institutions in 16 of the province's 17 municipalities, with the exception of Ngonguembo for unspecified reasons. Ngola stated that the program is being implemented by the municipal administrations and has a budget of five billion kwanzas for next year to include existing primary schools in remote areas of the province.
For the current school year, the education sector in Cuanza-Norte province enrolled 197,172 students, ranging from preschool to the second cycle of secondary education. These students are taught by 5,697 teachers distributed across 213 schools.
