Over 2,000 Public Managers Trained in Procurement in Angola

Cabinda: In less than a month, over 2,000 public managers from various budgeted units across Angola have received training on matters relating to public procurement. On Wednesday, the head of the Studies and Institutional Relations Department of the National Public Procurement Service (SNCP), Gilberto Vitela, announced this information in Cabinda Province. Vitela is currently on a ten-day working trip in this northern region of Angola to train more than 150 local public managers.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the training sessions, which began on February 23, have already covered 285 municipalities in the country. Municipal administrators, secretaries-general, and municipal directors were among those trained. Vitela explained that public procurement has two essential phases. The first involves training and execution, while the second involves diagnosis through regional representations.

Regarding the first phase, Vitela stated that public contracting entities are becoming better prepared and more up to date. Attention is now focused on the execution phase to better equip managers to improve the quality of public spending. The provinces of Cabinda and Zaire, located in northern Angola, have received ample training for public managers in matters related to public procurement.
