Luanda: At least 2,059 products have been registered on the Made in Angola Seal platform, with 479 companies signing up to the brand, ANGOP learned in Luanda. This development is part of the 2023-2027 PDN Balance Sheet Report - First Quarter of 2025, which highlights significant progress in the certification of local companies. According to Angola Press News Agency, in the first three months of 2025, 46,948 companies were certified, with micro-enterprises making up the majority at 40,694. Additionally, 4,740 economic operators received training through nine initiatives focusing on entrepreneurship, capital markets, and agricultural management, among others. In collaboration with the FAO, 87 rural entrepreneurs were trained in various fields, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing agricultural expertise. Operational support and technical assistance have been provided to 9,754 Field Schools, while infrastructure rehabilitation projects for family farming in Cuito and Catabola, Bié province, are progressing. The construction of the Regional Cassava Leadership Center is also nearing completion, signifying advances in agricultural capacity building. The report outlines the production of 53,371 tons of meat, a significant figure against the current year's target. Egg and milk production levels also highlight the sector's activity, albeit below the ambitious targets set. In forestry, the production of roundwood and sawn timber was recorded, though it fell short of the planned figures, indicating areas for improvement. In the fisheries sector, industrial and semi-industrial fishing yielded 105,700 tons of fish, while artisanal marine and inland fishing subsectors produced lower quantities than targeted. Aquaculture projects have maintained production capacity, with notable output in fingerlings and tilapia, despite some shortfall in aquaculture feed production. The implementation of the Immediate Measures for the Operationalization of the Aquaculture Sector is underway, supported by a Presidential Decree.
