Saurimo: More than 1,149 young people have enrolled in various vocational courses at the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP) in Lunda-Sul Province for the 2026/2027 training cycle, according to Constantino Ant³nio, an official associated with the institution's management.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Constantino Ant³nio announced that among those enrolled, 1,502 are men and 647 are women. The participants have registered for courses such as accounting, sewing and dressmaking, human resources, cooking and pastry, decoration, electricity, commercial refrigeration, IT, mechanics, and welding. Registrations for these courses are expected to close on February 2nd.
In the realm of private training centers, a total of 1,011 trainees have signed up, with 500 of them being female. Popular courses among these young people include plumbing, sewing, electricity, and occupational health and safety.
Ant³nio further highlighted that in 2025, INEFOP received 4,000 job applications, yet only 1,416 individuals found employment in sectors such as hospitality, service provision, catering, general commerce, mining, electricity, accounting, and civil engineering. He also noted an increase of 997 job applications compared to 2024.
Since 2024, INEFOP has successfully trained over 12,000 young individuals across various fields in Lunda-Sul. The institute manages 141 trainers who are distributed among 18 centers, of which nine are private.
