Over 100 Tourists Participate in ‘Tour Chik Chik’ in Cuvango

Cuvango: At least 122 tourists participated, last weekend, in the 12th edition of the 'Tour Chik Chik', in the municipality of Cuvango, in Hu­la province, as part of the celebrations of Peace and National Reconciliation Day, marked on the 4th of this month. The action allowed visitors to discover some of the main attractions of the district, with emphasis on the Tchitchalala Falls and the Catholic Mission, both national historical and cultural heritage sites.

According to Angola Press News Agency, during the activity, tourists, who traveled by train, experienced moments of leisure, adventure, and interaction with local communities, in an environment marked by the appreciation of the city's culture and natural beauty. The event was attended by the municipal administrator, Lu­s Paulo Ndala, who considered it a privilege to choose the region to host the initiative, highlighting its tourist potential, at the level of the southern region of the country.

The administrator emphasized that the municipality has favorable conditions to attract investments in the tourism sector, which can catapult it towards economic and social development. In turn, the director of Hotel Chik Chik, which promoted the excursion, Paulo Tiongo, said that the initiative aims to value local potential and boost domestic tourism, promoting Cuvango as a national reference destination.

The municipality of Cuvango, with 38,416 inhabitants, is located 356 kilometers east of Lubango, on the border with the province of Cubango, through Cuchi.
