Loroum: Oumarou Dialla was officially installed as the provincial director of the national police of Loroum by the High Commissioner of Loroum province, Captain Djibril Bassolé, in Titao on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Police Commissioner Oumarou Dialla takes over from Aboubacary Siribié, who has been promoted to the role of provincial director of police in Houet. During the installation ceremony, Captain Djibril Bassolé highlighted the importance of the mission ahead and provided guidance to Commissioner Dialla, emphasizing his familiarity with the locality from his previous role as central commissioner. Bassolé encouraged Dialla to prioritize the interests of the local population.
Commissioner Dialla expressed readiness to undertake his new responsibilities, focusing his mandate on the continuity of public service, combating terrorism, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and upholding honor and responsibility. He committed to enhancing community policing and expressed gra
titude towards his predecessor for his contributions. Dialla acknowledged the support he received from the community during his tenure as central commissioner and called for continued collaboration in facing future challenges.
In his previous role, Commissioner Dialla served as second vice-president of the special delegation, notably contributing to efforts in Titao while the president of the delegation was stationed in Ouahigouya. Meanwhile, outgoing Commissioner Siribié reflected on his nearly five-year service in Loroum, praising the local population’s cooperation in combating terrorism. Although satisfied with the progress made, Siribié expressed regret at not witnessing the complete eradication of terrorism in the region. He urged continued collaboration with Dialla, expressing confidence in his successor’s capabilities.
