Ouindigui: Members of the municipal consultation framework discuss peace and social cohesion

Around forty members of the Communal Consultation Framework (CCCo) from the commune of Ouindigui in the province of Loroum, met on Tuesday September 12, 2023 in Ouahigouya. First ordinary session of the year 2023, this session focused on the promotion of peace and social cohesion.
There are 40 members from members of the special delegation, technical, customary and religious services and other development actors intervening in the commune of Ouindigui to take part in this first session of the municipal consultation framework (CCCo) of Ouindigui .
The participants took stock of the activities of the special delegation and discussed the promotion of peace and social cohesion. Out of 31 planned activities, 16 were carried out, representing an execution rate of 51.50%.
Participants also discussed strategies for mobilizing resources to meet the demands of displaced populations.
‘The discussions and various contributions made it possible to identify the concerns of the populations in terms of social cohesion. Concrete actions have been identified to strengthen dialogue and consolidate living together through the involvement of resource people in conflict management,’ indicated the president of the special delegation of the commune of Ouindigui, Souleymane Gandema.
According to Mr. Ouindigui, the participants also recognized the need to reconsider our values in conflict management, to cultivate forgiveness, tolerance, respect for the elderly and ban stigma and incivility.
For the women’s representative of the commune of Ouindigui, each actor must play their part in achieving the set objectives.
‘We discussed several points and I am convinced that the commitments made will succeed, in particular those linked to social cohesion. As far as I am concerned, I am committed to informing and raising awareness among women,’ added the women’s representative of Ouindigui, Azeto Tao.
Faced with the intensification of incursions and attacks perpetrated by armed groups in 2021 in the commune of Ouindigui, the populations found refuge in Séguénéga and Ouahigouya. Initiatives are developed by the special delegation and the driving forces with a view to strengthening the resilience of populations.
