OUAGADOUGOU — In a poignant tribute to their late patriarch, Francis Ouédraogo, founder of the company SOFRAF, the Ouédraogo family has donated 5 million FCFA to Burkina Faso's Patriotic Support Fund (FSP). This contribution aims to bolster the country's efforts against terrorism.
According to Burkina Information Agency, chairman of the management committee of the FSP, the donation was formally received at a ceremony in Ouagadougou on Friday. This contribution is part of a larger pool of funds, with more than 10 million FCFA registered in the Patriotic Support Fund as of August 30, 2024. The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, who also serves as the chairman, expressed gratitude to the donors, assuring that "the funds received will be used wisely," as stated by the Ministry's communication service.
This substantial donation underscores the ongoing commitment of the Ouédraogo family to support national initiatives aimed at securing peace and stability in Burkina Faso, honoring the legacy of Francis Ouédraogo through impactful contributions to critical national causes.
