Oudtshoorn SAPS hosts road safety initiative

OUDTSHOORN – The Oudtshoorn SAPS in conjunction with Provincial and Municipal Traffic hosted “Daantjie the Cat” at a local primary school as part of ongoing road safety initiatives.

The main purpose of the visit was to sensitize learners, especially those walking to and from school, on pedestrian safety. Daantjie the Cat taught learners the dos and dont’s when approaching pedestrian crossings as well as the importance of adhering to road signs. His message was well received by those in attendance.

Brigadier Sussana Crafford, Station Commander of Oudtshoorn, assured attendees that similar initiatives are on the cards as part of various child safety awareness campaigns. She conveyed thanks and appreciation to all stakeholders supporting the event.
