Oudalan: The Oudalan Educators Association (CAAKOY) organized a soap-making training session on Tuesday in Gorom-Gorom for 60 internally displaced women (IDPs), as part of its 2026 program of activities dedicated to the economic empowerment of vulnerable populations. This first session allowed participants to familiarize themselves with soap-making techniques through theoretical instruction and practical work.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the participants have acquired the necessary knowledge to produce quality soap, with the aim of developing income-generating activities and strengthening their resilience to socio-economic difficulties. The president of CAAKOY, Abdoulazizou Abdina Maga, indicated that this initiative reflects the association's desire to support displaced women towards greater financial autonomy. He stressed that learning a trade is an important lever for sustainably improving their living conditions and those of their families, while encouraging them to put the acquired skills into practice.
The association's secretary general, Boukari Abdoulaye, praised the beneficiaries' commitment and encouraged them to work in a spirit of solidarity, particularly through the creation of production groups capable of enhancing their know-how and developing sustainable economic activities. The beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to CAAKOY for this capacity-building opportunity. They believe that this training opens up new prospects for economic integration and will allow them to better provide for their households.
Through this action, the CAAKOY association reaffirmed its commitment to community development, the promotion of local entrepreneurship and the strengthening of the resilience of vulnerable populations in the province of Oudalan.
