Ouahigouya: As part of the Secondary Cities Mobility and Urban Development Project (PMDUVS), a technical workshop marking the official start of sanitation, rainwater drainage, and road rehabilitation works in the city of Ouahigouya was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the town hall conference room.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was chaired by the Governor of the Northern Region, Mr. Thomas YAMPA, in the presence of the Technical Advisor of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Accessibility, Mr. Abdoulaye OU‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°DRAOGO, the Coordinator of PMDUVS, Mr. Mathieu LOMPO, the Director General of AGETIB, Mr. Ollo Franck Herv© KANSI‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°, the President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Ouahigouya, Mr. Amos LANKOAND‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°, as well as numerous technical actors, local, customary, and religious authorities.
In his speech, the Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Infrastructure recalled that the main objective of this workshop is to mobilize and raise awareness among stakeholders on the issues and requirements related to the proper execution of the work. He emphasized the importance of synergy between all stakeholders to achieve the expected results of the project.
Governor Thomas YAMPA then officially launched the project, expressing his satisfaction and gratitude to the ministry and its technical and financial partners for choosing the city of Ouahigouya. "This project represents a major opportunity to improve the living environment of the population, strengthen urban resilience, and generate jobs for local youth," he emphasized, before inviting the population to support the companies responsible for carrying out the work.
During the workshop, AGETIB Director General Ollo Kansi© presented the project's objectives and detailed the nature of the work to be carried out. He reassured Ouahigouya residents that the deadlines for completion would be met and that the work would be of high quality.
The discussions ended with an interactive session of questions and answers, observations, and recommendations made by the participants, with a view to ensuring the success of the work undertaken.
