Ouahigouya—The Burkinabè army has successfully executed an air-land operation to demolish a terrorist base near Djibo, according to security sources at the Burkina Information Agency (AIB).
According to News Releases by Burkina Information News Agency,The operation was initiated in response to recent artillery fire aimed at the town of Djibo. Upon locating the source of the shelling, approximately ten kilometers from Djibo, air carriers executed strikes on the targets.
Soldiers of the 14th Combined Arms Regiment (RIA) subsequently completed the operation by entirely demolishing the terrorist base. The armed forces also confiscated weapons, motorcycles, and transmission and night vision equipment.
The operation follows the neutralization of terrorists around Ouahigouya on October 19, 2023. These individuals had attacked shepherds and stolen livestock, only to be intercepted and eliminated by army strikes in Mouni. Operations continue on various fronts to restore peace and security.
