Ouahigouya Association Empowers Youth for Local Development

Ouahigouya: The Association Agir Ensemble (2AE) organized a public conference for youth on Saturday, January 24 in Ouahigouya, to raise awareness about local development, AIB observed. Young people were invited to actively participate in ongoing construction projects in Burkina Faso. Under the theme "Role and place of conscious youth in the national development process," the Association Agir Ensemble (2AE) invited young people from the Yaadga region to the city of Naba Kango.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activity was chaired by the High Commissioner of Yatenga, Pierre Claver Banc©, who was accompanied by Brahima Ou©draogo, Provincial Director of Youth of Yatenga, and numerous participants. Pierre Claver Banc© praised the organization's efforts in raising awareness, especially among young people. He emphasized that young people are the driving force behind the country's development. "The Popular Progressive Revolution places youth at the heart of its actions for the endogenous and harmonious development of Burkina Faso. And it is this awakening of awareness that allows young people to be active in the various projects for progress," he explained.

The authorities took the opportunity to invite the many young people who had come to get involved in the activities of the Faso Mªbo initiative. The association's president, Harouna Sawadogo, remarked that the presence of the top official of Yatenga province and the administrative authorities of Yaadga is proof that the issue of youth in Burkina Faso is a concern of the nation's highest authorities.

Harouna Sawadogo stressed, "Given that our country is undergoing a complete overhaul, it is essential that young people are equipped with knowledge and skills to better and positively impact the new dynamic underway." Beyond the cement donation planned by the organization in Faso Mªbo, the young people intend to organize themselves to contribute physically to the production and laying of paving stones in the city of Ouahigouya. Following the presentation on the topic given by Abdoul Aziz Kafando, the participants showed particular interest by offering constructive suggestions.
