Ouagadougou Orphanage Receives Over One Million FCFA in Donations from Les Amis de l’Enfant


Ouagadougou – The ‘Cri du cœur’ orphanage in Ouagadougou’s Trame d’accueil district received donations exceeding one million FCFA from the Association Les Amis de l’Enfant (2ae), including essential food and non-food items as well as a financial contribution.



According to Burkina Information Agency, president of the Association Les Amis de l’Enfant, the donation was spurred by a video appeal from the orphanage’s director, Konaté/Ouédraogo Fanta. The association provided a ton of rice, corn, boxes of soap, spaghetti, clothes, and a financial envelope, aiming to support the needs of children facing hardship. Drabo emphasized the association’s commitment to positively impacting the lives of these children and fostering a hopeful future for them.



The event also featured comments from Hubert Yaméogo, the promoter of SIBIRI Telecom SA and sponsor of the donation activity, who highlighted the profound impact of aiding children on broader humanity. He affirmed his dedication to the cause, aligning it with his own vision of support and philanthropy. The orphanage’s director, Konaté/Ouédraogo Fanta, expressed deep gratitude towards the benefactors, noting the significant relief the donation provided to the daily operations of the orphanage, which houses 43 children and consumes about 10 kg of rice daily.



The joy among the children was evident, as one remarked on feeling equal to other children thanks to the generosity of their benefactors. This sentiment underscored the immediate positive effect of the donation, which not only sustains their daily needs but also brings moments of happiness.
