Ouagadougou: Municipal Police Shut Down Bar Selling Adulterated Drinks to Students

OUAGADOUGOU: The municipal police of Ouagadougou have closed a bar in the Cissin district after discovering it was selling adulterated drinks to students during school hours. The establishment, located in district no. 06, was frequented by students aged between 12 and 18. According to Burkina Information Agency, the closure followed a denunciation by local residents, prompting the Public Security Directorate to carry out an eviction operation. During the operation on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, authorities seized the adulterated drinks and the equipment used to sell them. Additionally, the offenders' vehicles were impounded. The Municipal Police praised the community's efforts in reporting such activities and encouraged continued cooperation in identifying behaviors that jeopardize student safety.
