OTJIWARONGO — The Swapo Party leadership in the Otjozondjupa Region organized a candlelight vigil to honor the late President Hage Geingob. Attended by nearly 200 residents, the vigil featured speeches, religious songs, and recollections of Geingob’s formative years in the region.
According to The Namibia Press Agency, Swapo’s Otjozondjupa Regional Coordinator, the event was a collective mourning and celebration of Geingob’s visionary leadership. The vigil, which took place in Otjiwarongo, is part of a series of memorials, including upcoming events at the Otjiwarongo Municipality, Otavi Town Council, and Grootfontein Municipality, allowing the community to pay their respects and remember Geingob’s contributions to Namibia.
