OTJIWARONGO: The Otjiwarongo State Hospital in the Otjozondjupa Region marked Christmas Day with the birth of four babies, including three girls and one boy.
According to The Namibia Press Agency, a registered nurse at the hospital’s maternity ward, the team of nurses assisted four women in delivering their healthy babies between 09h19 and 12h00 on Christmas Day. “We first assisted a 16-year-old lady to deliver her baby boy at about 09h19 on Monday morning,” Tuna shared.
The nurse further noted that the newborn babies weighed between 2.6 and 3.3 kilograms, which is within the normal range for a newborn’s weight. Stefeni Pienaar, a 16-year-old mother from Otjiwarongo, expressed her joy and sense of blessing at having given birth to a healthy baby boy on Christmas Day, a day revered in her community as the birth date of Jesus Christ. The joyous occasion was made even more special as the baby boy received gifts from the community, including nappies, a teddy bear, and clothes.
