Otjituuo — A 24-year-old man, who is suspected of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend at Otjituuo in the Otjozondjupa Region, was arrested at Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region on Thursday morning.
According to a new release by NAMPA, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, head of community affairs in Otjozondjupa, said the suspect is slated for a brief court appearance in Eenhana on Friday before being transferred to the Otjituuo police holding cells. The deceased has been identified by family members as 24-year-old Julianne Hendricks.
Hendricks died instantly after being stabbed three times around 02:30 on Monday morning. "She was stabbed twice in the chest and once in the stomach and that killed her instantly," Mbeha stated. The fatal stabbing occurred in Ondjamo village within the Otjituuo area.
At the time of the incident, Hendricks was returning home from her current boyfriend's residence when she was allegedly stabbed by the suspect, her ex-boyfriend, who subsequently fled the scene. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
