Otjinene: Otjinene Sports Club (SC), a team competing in the Namport Omaheke Third-Division Stream B, has set its sights on promotion to the region's second division at the conclusion of the current season. The Otjinene-based club currently leads Stream B with an impressive 20 points earned from eight matches played.
According to Namibia Press Agency, head coach Kaupasaneua Tuaire expressed that the team's current strong performance aligns with their aspirations, and he is aiming for the team to maintain this high level of play throughout the remainder of the season. "We maintain a consistent training schedule, and the players demonstrate excellent teamwork and a consistently positive attitude," Tuaire stated.
The head coach further noted the players' dedication, highlighting their commitment to putting in extra effort through individual training. "Given the challenges we face with the lack of a dedicated sports ground in Otjinene, our players utilise their free time for self-directed exercise. This level of commitment is significant, and discipline is paramount within the team," Tuaire said.
He also pointed out that Otjinene SC's squad largely comprises school-going players who are motivated to prioritise their education alongside their football ambitions. "We respect their academic responsibilities and actively monitor their progress. We ensure they have sufficient time to focus on their studies, especially during examination periods," the coach explained.
Otjinene SC recently secured a 1-0 victory against Ozombuzovindimba, solidifying their top position on the league table. Omuramba FC and Abedi FC are close behind in second and third positions, respectively, both with 18 points. Mikasa FC currently occupies the bottom of the league standings with zero points.
In other league matches played on Sunday, Abedi FC delivered a decisive 4-0 win against Mukasa FC, while Okauua Rising Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to Otjijere FC.
