Otemptic Debuts First Album ‘A Cappella’ at Goethe Institut

Ouagadougou - Musical artist Otemptic, real name Adji Kabré, released her debut album 'A Cappella' on Friday at the Goethe Institut. The album features eight tracks that delve into themes of love, women's emancipation, identity, patriotism, justice, and equality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, 'A Cappella' employs a unique blend of slam, poetry, and classical music to deliver a powerful message focused on women's issues, employing "strong and shocking words" to ensure the message is conveyed effectively. "To tell the truth, you have to shock, you have to be authentic," she stated during the album unveiling. The album's title itself highlights the significance of the voice and words in expressing and exchanging profound ideas.

Kabré explained that each track on 'A Cappella' is meant to encourage listeners to engage in deep reflection and self-discovery, confronting both personal and societal issues. Beyond her music career, Kabré is also known as a Disc Jockey (DJ) and is pursuing a master's degree in conflict management and peace building. Having begun her music career in 2021, with her first single released in April 2023, this album marks a significant milestone in her artistic journey.
