Como: The organizing committee of the Niangoloko en fªte Festival (CONEF) held a press conference on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the festival site, located in sector no. 5 of Niangoloko, to present the main directions of the 9th edition, scheduled from March 26 to 29, 2026, under the theme: 'Culture, youth and patriotic commitment'.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the festival's general commissioner, Kassoum David Kon, stated that the upcoming edition aims to mark a milestone of maturity, celebrating ten years of the event. He mentioned that several thousand festival-goers are expected to attend the four days of activities in Niangoloko.
The festival's general coordinator, Koudiaba Victorien Soma, detailed that the artistic program will feature more than sixty artists and traditional troupes, including performances by Privat, Adji Ka Djnba, and Iba Montana. The closing ceremony will be highlighted by a performance from the renowned diva of Mandinka music, Oumou Sangar.
The cultural event will offer a variety of activities, such as an artistic showcase, a maracana football competition named "Morifr Soumahoro", a p©tanque competition, a children's area, a market street, and maquis and restaurant zones.
Additionally, the general commissioner disclosed that the budget for this 9th edition is estimated at 32 million CFA francs. He noted, however, that the budget has not been fully secured and appealed to the people of Niangoloko and potential partners for their support to ensure the event's success.
The press conference concluded with a question-and-answer session where journalists inquired about the progress of the festival's preparations.
