Organization of School Exams Discussed at Mouhoun Board of Directors Meeting

Mouhoun: The regional director in charge of Secondary Education in Boucle du Mouhoun, Raoul Sanon, chaired the 3rd board of directors meeting for the 2024-2025 school year in D©dougou. The meeting focused on examining crucial aspects for the future of education in the region and discussing the practical organization of school exams.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting provided a framework for exchanging views, sharing, and making suggestions on the activities of the regional directorate in charge of secondary education in Boucle du Mouhoun during the past quarter. The session, held on May 26, 2025, brought together the 6 provincial directors, department heads, and social partners to discuss successes and challenges faced by schools.

Preparations for end-of-year exams were a central topic of discussion. The assessment highlighted good practices while identifying areas needing improvement. The preparation of end-of-year reports was also discussed, with board members agreeing on the need for rigorous documentation to assess student and teacher performance.

Due to the security situation, the Boucle du Mouhoun region is experiencing many departures and fewer arrivals each year, resulting in a staff shortage in certain localities. For this session, 15,113 candidates, including 6,440 girls, will take the BEPC exam, divided into 59 juries and 68 secondary centers. Additionally, 287 candidates will take the CAP for technical education, and 576 candidates, including 181 girls, will sit for the BEP exam. For the Baccalaureate exam, 7,845 candidates, including 4,039 girls, will participate, divided among 33 juries. The professional certification exams will involve 1,608 candidates for the Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP).

In light of the challenges, Raoul Sanon emphasized the importance of flawless organization to ensure the smooth running of exams. He expressed his hope that all candidates would be well prepared and that the exams would take place in optimal conditions. The Chairman of the Board thanked the members for their commitment and availability, urging every education player to contribute to maintaining the progress of education in the region.

Sanon concluded by stressing the need for continued investment to achieve better results in future exams.
