WESTERN CAPE – In a major crackdown on illegal drug activities, Kraaifontein police, under Operation Restore, arrested two women, aged 40 and 41, on 5 November 2023. The arrests were made in separate incidents as part of the operation’s high-density patrols and crime prevention efforts in the area.
According to South African Police Service, Police, acting on intelligence about drug sales at two distinct locations in Scottsville and Eikendal, swiftly moved to the addresses. At the first location on Petunia Street in Scottsville, officers discovered nine packets of tik, a form of methamphetamine, and cash suspected to be proceeds from drug sales. A 41-year-old woman was apprehended on charges of dealing in tik. In a separate raid at a residence on 7th Avenue in Eikendal, the police found 186 mandrax tablets and 15 packets of tik, leading to the arrest of a 40-year-old woman on drug possession charges.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrate Court to face their respective charges. This operation is part of an ongoing effort by local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and usage in the Western Cape region.
