LOWER JUBBA: The Somali National Security Forces have successfully carried out an operation targeting al-Shabaab militants in several areas of the Lower Jubba region.

According to Somali National News Agency, who led the operation and spoke to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the targeted areas included Yaaq-Halul, Qod-Qod, Beer-Hani, and Quddus. These areas were previously under the control of al-Shabaab, where the terrorist group had established bases and consistently harassed the local population.

Major Ahmed reported that the operation resulted in the destruction of the terrorist group’s positions and the clearing of threats from the affected areas. He stated that the operation is part of the ongoing national efforts to eliminate al-Shabaab’s presence in the country and to restore peace and stability to regions affected by terrorism.
