Luvo: On Friday morning, a child who appeared to be about one year old was discovered dead in the Luvo River, which is situated within the municipality named after the river in Zaire Province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Manuel Mpanzo Cassua, the spokesperson for the Civil Protection and Fire Service, reported that the child's body was found floating in the river and was already in an advanced state of decomposition. Authorities have not determined the exact cause of death, but it is presumed to be drowning.
The recovery operation involved firefighters, national police officers, the Criminal Investigation Service, and public health technicians from the border municipality of Luvo. Due to the condition of the remains, the child's body was buried on the banks of the Luvo River.
The Luvo commune is located approximately 60 km north of Mbanza Kongo, the capital of Zaire Province.
