Omusati: The office of Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo handed over building materials worth N.dollars 98,347 to 12 identified households from all 12 constituencies in the region on Wednesday. The materials included corrugated iron sheets, poles, doors and door frames, timber, and cement.
According to Namibia Press Agency, this initiative highlights the government's commitment to improving living conditions, empowering communities, and fostering equitable development throughout the region, as emphasized by Governor Shikongo. One of the beneficiaries, Uushona Timoteus from the Nesi community, expressed his appreciation, noting that such gestures are rare and unexpected. "I am very thankful for this donation. Moments like these only come once in a while and I was not expecting this," Timoteus said.
Another beneficiary from the same community, Ehenondubo Kapiya, also shared his gratitude for the corrugated iron sheets he received. "I am really thankful for my iron sheets that I just received. I have no words to express how thankful I am," Kapiya said. The recipient households were identified by the regional council.
