OKALONGO — This Friday, the Directorate of Education’s Okalongo circuit will host a combined football and netball tournament aimed at fostering connections between educators and the corporate sector.
According to Namibia Press Agency, who spoke to Nampa on Wednesday, the event is backed by a budget of N.dollars 23,000 to cover operational costs and prize awards. Shimutwikeni highlighted the tournament’s primary goal: to unite teachers and business professionals in a setting that encourages the exchange of expertise and ideas pertinent to their respective fields, thereby promoting progress within the educational sector.
Furthermore, Shimutwikeni emphasized that the event will serve as an opportunity for educators to discuss various educational topics, share knowledge and skills, and establish contacts for future collaboration, all in support of ministry policies aimed at team building. Participants from different educational circuits are welcome, though they must undergo a verification process that includes national identity and proof of employment checks.
The Okalongo circuit, noted for being one of the most populous in the Omusati Region with 13,800 learners across 26 schools, looks forward to a successful event that will potentially yield lasting benefits for its educational community.
