Offending Road Users Subject to Community Service in Dano

Dano: The Dano Central Police Station (CCP) organized a community service operation in collaboration with the municipal police following the arrest of road users for violating traffic regulations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation aims to reduce incivility and traffic accidents in Dano. Police officials stated that the operation involved arresting individuals who failed to comply with the highway code, such as ignoring traffic lights and stop signs, speeding in built-up areas, and using mobile phones while driving.

The arrested individuals were required to perform community service, which included cleaning gutters along National Road 12 to facilitate water flow and prevent flooding in Dano. The vehicles of those arrested were taken to the police station.

Those subjected to community service expressed appreciation for the police action. Dominique Ayoro, one of the arrested, urged the public to respect authority and practice civic-mindedness, sharing his experience of inadvertently running a red light. The seized vehicles and equipment, totaling 72 pieces, will be returned to their owners upon completion of the community work and after presenting legal documents. The operation, which resulted in the arrest of 81 people, will continue in the coming days in Dano.
