Occupation of Administrative Areas and Scarcity of Necessities Discussed in Boulsa

Nahouri: The occupation of administrative areas and the scarcity of basic necessities were on the agenda for discussion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the statutory members of the Namentenga Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) held their first ordinary session of the year on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Boulsa, under the chairmanship of High Commissioner Adama Conseiga. Several major concerns, including the occupation of administrative land and the scarcity of basic necessities, were at the heart of the discussions.

Organised with the support of the Citizenship Laboratory, the session covered various themes, including conflict prevention and management, the problem of drugs and narcotics in schools, the 2025-2026 dry agricultural campaign, as well as the assessment and prospects of the SOLID¨R project. At the end of the various presentations, the participants welcomed the achievements of the SOLID¨R project, while wishing for its extension to other municipalities in the province, beyond Tougouri and Yalgo.

However, CCP members expressed their deep concern about the continued occupation of administrative areas in general and school areas in particular. They recommended that those in charge of the structures concerned take steps with the land registry services to demarcate and mark their properties, in order to avoid any land disputes. The president of the CCP also called on the illegal occupants to take responsibility.

Participants also lamented the scarcity of butane gas and cement on the local market, as well as the rise in prices of certain cereals, situations deemed worrying for the population. Satisfied with the conclusions of the work, High Commissioner Adama Conseiga thanked the Citizenship Laboratory for its support, as well as the coordinator of the SOLID¨R project, Kouka Adama Ou edraogo, for the financial support that made this session possible. He also commended the quality of the participants' contributions.
