The National Observatory for the Defence of the Civic Aspect of the State has demanded participation in the process of educational reform, which will be launched soon in Tunisia, in order to guarantee what it considers “civil and modernist character of the educational process.”

The observatory stressed in a statement Monday the need to introduce deep and comprehensive reforms in the education sector, given the deterioration of the public school at all levels.

President Kais Saied had announced atba meeting with Minister of Education Mohamed Ali Boughdiri last Friday that the education system will be radically reformed, after the launch of the Higher Council of Education, provided for in the constitution of July 25, 2022.

The Observatory noted that the educational reform must be undertaken in the framework of a partnership and a serious and deep consultation among all stakeholders on scientific and modern bases. It favours the digital culture and the knowledge economy, away from ideologies and political considerations that advocate what it described as “retrograde and traditional ideas opposed to progress.”
