Durban: The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has confirmed its participation in Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025, taking place in Durban, South Africa from 13 to 15 May.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the event, owned by South African Tourism, is one of the continent’s leading leisure trade shows, attracting global buyers, destination marketers, and travel service providers. NTB CEO Sebulon Chicalu stated that in a show of national unity and industry collaboration, Namibia will be represented by 37 co-sharers, including the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT), tour operators, lodges, airlines, and 11 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) supported under MEFT.

He mentioned that among the confirmed participants are Gondwana Collection, Fly Namibia, Wilderness, Namibia Airports Company, Namibia Wildlife Resorts, and Swakop Cultural Tours. ‘Namibia’s presence at the indaba is about more than just visibility. It is about connecting our tourism industry with global buyers and promoting our country’s unique experiences,’ he said.

He highlighted that the Namibian-themed evening aims to facilitate interaction between international buyers and Namibian suppliers while engaging the media on what Namibia has to offer. This strategic engagement, Chicalu noted, supports NTB’s mission to increase tourist arrivals and expand the reach of Namibian tourism brands. By participating in the Indaba alongside co-sharers and MSMEs, the tourism board aims to showcase the country’s variety of tourism products from wildlife and safaris to adventure travel and cultural experiences.
