Noumbiel’s Commitment to Local Production and Consumption Strengthens National Identity

Ouagadougou: Continuing the activities of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation, Batie resonated on Thursday with the theme of "producing and consuming locally" during the national flag-raising ceremony at the Noumbiel Provincial High School. Administrative and paramilitary authorities, defense and security forces, and civilians mobilized to reaffirm their commitment to the common cause.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the province of Noumbiel is actively engaging in a series of activities to reinforce local production and consumption. On Thursday, April 2nd, the community gathered at the Noumbiel Provincial High School for a national flag-raising ceremony, which included speeches supporting the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP), fundraising for an ambulance for the Dj´r´ region, and a visit to local manufacturing units of k´k´ donda and soap.

Sansan Dah, the principal of the Noumbiel Provincial High School, addressed the audience about the significance of local production and consumption. He emphasized that the school has been living this reality since the 2025-2026 school year, with students and staff donning k´k´ donda uniforms made by the school community.

Dah stressed the importance of educating children and valuing local trades to transform students into not only consumers but also artisans and producers. His remarks were met with commendation from the province's secretary general, Simeon Toe, who encouraged the continuation and innovation of these efforts to make local production and consumption a daily practice.

In his concluding remarks, Toe urged the community to commit to the causes of the popular progressive revolution and called on students to foster a spirit of knowledge, as they are the future defenders of the country.
