NOUMBIEL: During the closing ceremony of a two-week-long event of patriotic commitment, authorities in Noumbiel province announced that local populations had contributed nearly 400 thousand FCFA to the Patriotic Support Fund. This fund benefits the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), a civic group dedicated to national defense. According to Burkina Information Agency, the contribution was gathered over the course of the national days of patriotic commitment and civic participation. The High Commissioner of Noumbiel, Drissa Hema, praised the residents for their dedication and urged them to continue their support by actively participating in community surveillance and maintaining a healthy environment. Hema emphasized the importance of each citizen acting as a volunteer by contributing to the safety and welfare of their community. Furthermore, Hema called for mutual tolerance among the residents to foster social cohesion and enhance the quality of life in the province. The funds raised are exp ected to support the activities of the VDP, which plays a crucial role in safeguarding the region.
