Noumbiel/Bati©: Sector 05 Triumphs in PDS Cup Final

Ouagadougou: The team from sector 05 emerged victorious in the final of the 2nd edition of the President of the Special Delegation Cup (PDS) on Saturday in Bati©. They secured their win with a penalty shootout score of 5 to 4, following a match that saw significant attendance from the local community, including administrative, customary, and religious leaders.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, which took place under the leadership of Issoufou Sory, the prefect and president of the special delegation of the commune of Bati©, concluded at the municipal stadium of Bati©. The match started with high expectations and maintained its competitive spirit throughout, ending in a 1-1 draw at the conclusion of regular time, necessitating a penalty shootout to determine the winner.

The team from sector 05 clinched the trophy by successfully converting five penalty shots against their opponent's four. Alongside the trophy, the winning team was awarded a cash prize of 150,000 FCFA, along with a ball, a set of jerseys, and medals.

The runner-up team was presented with 100,000 FCFA, a ball, a set of jerseys, and medals. Additionally, the teams that finished in third and fourth place, as well as all participating teams, received recognition and rewards for their efforts.

Prefect Issoufou Sory emphasized the successful achievement of the competition's objective, which was to foster unity among the youth. He stated, "The objective sought has already been achieved, because it is this rapprochement between young people that we wanted."
