OUAHIGOUYA — The Northern region of Burkina Faso reported a 51.73% success rate in the 2024 baccalaureate examinations, with the results announced this past Wednesday.
According to Burkina Information Agency, out of 6,880 candidates who registered, 6,766, including 3,533 girls, took part in the examinations across various districts. The first round saw 2,425 candidates passing, while another 1,075 succeeded in the second round.
Zondoma led the districts with the highest success rate at 56.50%, followed by Yatenga at 51.44%, and Passoré closely behind at 51.01%. Loroum had the lowest rate within the region at 49.79%. Notably, female participation was slightly higher than that of males, though the pass rates were higher among boys (53.88%) compared to girls (49.76%).
