Nobere Students Learn Civic Responsibility and Patriotism

Zoundweogo: The kick-off was given for five weeks of civic and patriotic training on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, for the benefit of students in the intermediate classes of the Departmental High School and the Destin Private College of Education in Nobere.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative of the Ministry of Secondary Education and Vocational Training has led to a civic and patriotic training session now underway in Nobere. More than 500 students will be instilled with republican values and military discipline to become role models within Burkinab¨ society.

This session is taking place at the Lycee Departemental and involves over 500 students from various grades of the Lycee Departemental and the Nobere Private College. The program's objective is to instill civic values in younger generations through comprehensive theoretical and practical modules over five weeks, focusing on solidarity, community cohesion, protection of school grounds, and hygiene in schools. Additional topics include drug prevention, substance abuse, and violence prevention in schools.

Supervision is provided by volunteer teachers and members of the Defense and Security Forces. Chief Warrant Officer Bahouro Kienou and Police Sergeant Emile Sia emphasize military values, teaching military behavior and discipline basics.

Djakaridja Zoubga, Principal of the Nobere Departmental High School, expressed satisfaction with the initiative, stating it significantly strengthens students' civic-mindedness, enhancing academic performance. He noted the students' progress just two days into the program.

Students like Nafissatou Yabre, a 10th-grade student, expressed enthusiasm for learning new concepts like respecting elders and understanding military structures. The dedication of the instructors is evident, and students hope to emerge transformed.

Pierre Kafando, President of the Special Delegation of Nobere, encouraged the participants, stressing diligence and punctuality. He urged students to become ambassadors of civic responsibility and reminded supervisors of their mission's nobility and the support they have.

This session marks a national effort to rebuild the Burkinab¨ citizen from school onwards, aiming for the country's future development.
