Nobere “A” Public Primary School Promotes Cultural Heritage Through Celebration

Ouagadougou: The Nobere 'A' public primary school celebrated its cultural day on Thursday. Through traditional dances, local culinary arts, and sports competitions, the school aims to make indigenous values ??the foundation of the education of future citizens.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the staccato rhythms of the Warba and Ki¨gba resonated in the schoolyard. For this cultural day, the students traded their pens for dance steps and kitchen utensils, celebrating the ancestral heritage of Burkina Faso.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the presentation of the culinary skills of the young girls from the school. Under the watchful eyes of parents and teachers, they showcased local dishes such as babenda (a mixture of sorrel leaves, cabbage, millet powder, and peanuts) and gonre (a steamed bean cake).

Beyond cultural activities, physical excellence was also on display with athletics and football competitions. The top students were rewarded with prizes of encouragement.

For the school's director, Catherine Gouem, this initiative aims for a harmonious education of the learner. "The success of our students depends on the appropriation of our endogenous values. This day allows children to become familiar with their social environment and to reveal early talents that will facilitate their future socio-professional integration," she explained.

The head of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Nobere, Sandaogo Prosper Ilboudo, welcomed the holding of this day. "When culture is valued in schools, there is no doubt that the education offered to young Burkinabe is of high quality, combining intellectual knowledge and endogenous knowledge," he stated.

Through this day, the Nobere 'A' public primary school reaffirms its commitment to training citizens rooted in their culture, a guarantee of sustainable development for the land of upright men.
