“No Foreign Agent” Governing Venezuela, Says Acting President

Venezuela: Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, on Tuesday condemned the U.S. military capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, stressing that "there is no foreign agent" governing the South American country.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Rodriguez emphasized the sovereignty of Venezuela at an event in Caracas, stating, "We are here governing alongside the people. The Venezuelan government rules our country, no one else." Her remarks came after the U.S. bombardment of Venezuela's capital as part of the military operation to capture Maduro. Despite the turmoil, Rodriguez asserted that Venezuelans "remain steadfast" in their bid to defend the nation.

In her address, Rodriguez paid tribute to the victims of the U.S. assault and announced that demonstrations would be held across the country. These demonstrations aim to demand the release of the presidential couple from U.S. custody.

Rodriguez also reassured the public that, despite the attack on Venezuela, the country continues to fulfil its production, supply, and export cycle, underscoring the resilience of the nation amidst international pressures.
