NIAMEY — In response to the recent terrorist attack in Togo, Niger has expressed its readiness to collaborate with Togo to combat terrorism. The attack, which occurred on July 20, 2024, resulted in casualties and significant material damage.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President of the National Council for the Protection of the Fatherland and Head of State of Niger, heartfelt condolences were extended to the government and people of Togo. On Monday, July 22, 2024, General Tiani conveyed his deep compassion and solidarity with the Togolese nation during this challenging time. “I would like to assure you of the total and unwavering support of the Authorities and the Nigerien people for the Authorities and the brotherly Togolese people in this difficult ordeal,” wrote General Tiani.
General Tiani emphasized the strong ties between the two nations and expressed Niger’s willingness to assist Togo in finding solutions to the ongoing security challenges. “The Authorities and the people of Niger, sensitive and grateful for the support you have given them in the difficult times they have been going through since the events of July 26, 2023, are entirely at your disposal to work together in the search for solutions to the common challenges we face,” concluded the Nigerien Head of State.
